This is a one time event. Others may occur in the future, but this one’s for fun and to bring a bit more poetry to Santa Clara.

It is open sign up, meaning anyone can sign up to perform. Bring three poems.

• Get to Barefoot by 7:30pm.
• Find Mike McGee.
• Sign up in person. List closes at 7:55pm.
• Show starts at 8:00pm.
• Prizes for top 3 poets.

There will be three rounds of elimination. If you do not want to compete, you can be a calibration/sacrificial poet before a round. Talk to Mike about it.

ROUNDS
Round one - 11 poets.
Round two - 7 highest scoring first round poets.
Round three - 3 highest scoring cumulative poets from rounds 1 and 2.

RULES
1 poem per round.
3 minute time limit.
No costumes, props, or accompaniment of any sort.
Poems must be written by you. 100% original.
No repeats.

JUDGING AND SCORING
5 judges will be selected at random.
No friends/family of poets can judge.
Judges will score the poems from 0 to 100. No decimal points needed.
Lowest score and highest scores are dropped. The three median scores will be added together.
Total possible high score is 300.
